New Year's Eve Recap

Not sure if anyone has noticed or not, but my photos lately have a colorful and sharper look to them.
Mr. C gets all the credit for this one.
For Christmas, I received a Nikon D3100 :)

I had no idea what he was getting me, nor did I even think about it being a super nice camera!
I had mentioned it a while back, but it never once crossed my mind that I would be getting it soo soon!
Ohh, and did I mention he also bought me a zoom lens, camera bag, and all accessories to go along with it?
Yes, he did!

I love photography. Everything about it.
You will find a lot of random photos on here, both past and present.
I like to capture everything.
Details are what we often forget.

Anywho, all of that was to give a heads up regarding the next few photos.
As you all know, both of our families are born and bred hunters.
I love anything and everything having to deal with the outdoors and nature in general.
New Year's Eve was spent at the hunting club with the guys.
Although there wasn't much running & gunning Friday, I did get to test out my new camera.

Cam sat down in an ant bed ;)
bahahahahaaaa.

Cliff and I had to do a few things beforehand, so we drove the "Yota" over to the club and brought Jasmine along for the ride {who is completely gun shy by the way}.

One of Cody's beagles, Jet.

 Dad.

New Year's Night was spent at non-other than...the clubhouse.

Since I tried out my new gift all day, Cliff decided to bring out his new keg grill I gave him for Christmas {compliments of my grandpa who made it!}.

We grilled buffalo wings,

Ate oysters,

Warmed up by the fire,
And, you guessed it... played cornhole.

January 3rd Recap

I spent the entire day with Cliff on Monday.

Our day was planned out accordingly:
  1. hook up trailer to truck
  2. pick up junk
  3. haul junk to junkyard
  4. get moolah for junk
  5. pick up & burn leaves in yard
  6. choose puppy
  7. eat supper
We started out fairly early Monday morning.
The sunrise over the fields was a pretty sight to see :)

After making two trips, we left out with $200ish.

The rest of the day was spent around his Dad's home.
I helped him feed, water, and pressure wash the dog pens out :)

We then loaded up the riding lawnmower & pull behind "leaf picker-uper".
I rode that bad boy around and around our yard until there was hardly a leaf on the ground.
All while Cliff was steadily feeding my piles into the fire.

Shortly after, my Mom met us at the house and we took a trip over to pick out Cliff's new German Shorthaired puppy!

{We are picking her up tomorrow morning! YAY!}

Around 7, we ventured back over to Cliff's Dad's for his birthday supper.
Home cooked fried chicken, rice & gravy, rice-a-roni, cheeseburger helper.
It was delish!

Pictures coming tomorrow of the new addition, Bella :)

wedding wednesday's

156 Days to go!
Wow, time is certainly flying by!

  • Catering: We have chosen a local caterer that we know personally. At the moment, we are still tossing around exactly which foods we want to serve, but know for certain it will consist of light appetizers & such.
  • Honeymoon: My FMIL is handling this portion.
  • Bridesmaids dresses: I think I have finally found the perfect dress that fits the theme to a T! We ordered a sample dress and passed it around for the majority of the girls to try on. We will order for the remainder of the girls sometime within the next two weeks!
  • Ceremony musicians: We officially booked that ToDaY! Now, we just have to set up a meeting to discuss which songs we wish to be played.
  • Rehearsal dinner: We've booked the rehearsal dinner location as of last week. At the moment, we are trying to determine whether or not we are going to go with the catering company the venue provides or not.
  • Invitations: Since most of the wedding is DIY, we are definitely going to hand-make the invitations. We've purchased all of the materials needed, now just need to discuss invitation wording and begin putting them together.
  • Wedding insurance..?? Really?? I never even knew this existed. How crazy! ..No, we do not have this.

Cliff's birthday gathering

Yesterday afternoon was spent cooking, shooting skeets, playing cornhole and spending a little quality time between the two of our families.

For dinner we had quite a variety to choose from.. Dad and I grilled Bubba Burgers and pork steaks while Mom prepared Cliff's favorite cheesy chicken casserole.

Cliff's not much of a "sweets" kind of person. He said he'd take a strawberry cheesecake rather than a regular "birthday cake" so that's just what he got.

Poor thing couldn't keep his eyes open due to the bright flash.

I had ordered him a coyote decoy prior to Christmas but it never came in in time, so I used it as one of his birthday gifts :)

My Aunt Kim & Uncle Noah joked that they were somewhat "slim" on funds this year, therefore they were having to use generic brands.

This is her idea of a generic birthday card.

It was cute!

Cornhole in the shop has been a hit every night this past week.

My brother, Cody and Cliff's brother, Jeffrey.

And now, for the big birthday reveal...

A German Shorthaired female puppy!

We went by and let him pick out which one he wanted this afternoon.

If we're not mistaken, we think it's the one in the center of the picture with the small brown spot near its tail.

She's actually the runt of the litter.

Cliff said he had been thinking about dog names early last week so when I asked him he immediately spit out "Isabella".

I.Love.It.

We shall call her "Bella"!

Happy 25th Birthday, Cliff ♥

Today we are busy celebrating Cliff's 25th Birthday!
Last night we had a small get together with the family for an early celebration.
{I'll be posting pictures soon.}
In the meantime, I'll let you all guess what kind of gift I have in store for him!
If I give any hints, it'll probably give it away ;)
....
Ok, I'll give you two.
1) He LOVES to hunt, so it's definitely something to do with that.
2) It won't be ready to take home until the 10th of January.

Happy Birthday Fiance! :)
