happy valentine's day! ♥ ♥

Happy Valentine's Day!

1 Corinthians 13:13
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is lve.

The fiance and I are hoping for a romantic evening at home after I get done with my meeting.
We opted for the same menu we had a few years back: grilled rib eye steaks, baked potato, & tossed salad. We discussed not buying each other anything since we are on a tight budget with our wedding up ahead & me trying to graduate. Sadly enough, I still need to make him a card and a little something something. Just not sure what yet..? I have school from 1:30-4:30, then meeting at 7. Looks like I better get busy or Mr. C won't be getting any Valentine's.

 Lastly, I apologize for not finishing up my 14 day L.O.V.E. challenge with Summer! The beau and I both have to use this one computer. Since he is in grad school, his workload has hence increased and he is using the computer A LOT. Which leaves me trying to find time in between to post!

What did you buy/make for your significant other for V-Day?!

bathroom mirror makeover

Everything in our master bathroom is white, tan, or brown... that is was, besides this old BLACK framed mirror.

Little Bella decided one of the corners was a chew toy after a long, boring day being stuck home alone.

I began by taping over the mirror with old newspaper.

{Please excuse our 1925 styled rug. Our living room is under major reconstruction and it covers up the HUGE stain on the original carpet. Plus, with all the tracking in and out the back door, it is the recipient of all of our muddy shoes. :)}

Next I took it on the back porch, laid down more newspaper and went to spray painting.

 {again, normally...the door knob isn't usually covered with tape, nor do we have two-toned carpet and a massive white splotch on our lightly pinkish walls...hehe- I can not wait for this living room project to be FINISHED}

I.love.spray.paint.

I used Krylon Fusion White ~$4.79

Once dry, I used some scrap twine {that I also used for this project} to make the flowery swirl & hanging loop.

To cover up Miss Bella's damage, I wrapped twine in a small tight circle until the desired size was needed. I hot glued the back of the flower and stuck it in place on the right corner.

To hang, I simply cut a portion of twine, flipped over the mirror and hot glued both ends down.

Stuck a hercules hook in the wall..

And....drum roll please....

Ta-da!

DIY: twine vases

For the reception, we have rented a 40x80 tent, 24 round tables, blah blah blah.

We've been collecting wine bottles, mason jars, clear vases, 40 oz. beer bottles, etc. for our centerpieces for over a year or so now.

Literally.

Take a look at the spare bedroom wedding room.

We are working on decluttering! All those mason jars on the left side, are finished being decorated and are stored and labeled in their own storage containers.

Anyhoo, we bought a few fresh daisies a while back and was playing around with the different vases trying to figure out the perfect centerpiece set-up.

Something was missing.

As you may have figured out by now, I'm a mini craftaholic.
So as I'm browsing some of the craft blogs I follow daily, I ran across this cute DIY tutorial about an old carnival cruise line cup.

It sparked my interest and got my little wheels-a-turning.

After a few days, I thought of the perfect project for those old fishbowl vases.

What you need:
  • roll of twine
  • vase
  • glue gun/glue sticks
Start out by flipping your vase over and hot gluing around the base.

Continue circling the vase and waa-la.

You have this!

For home decor, I want to make some of these precious twine balls too!

I think these new vases will add that rustic touch we were missing previously.

I'm in love with the way they turned out!

    going back blonde.

    For the wedding, I am considering going back blonde.
    I want to pull off the side bun with flowers {that match my dress}, so I'm also considering chopping off a few inches..(soon).

    Maybe something like this for the wedding?
    Remember, it's in June, outdoors, in Georgia, with big dress on...
    =Hotttt.

    Or this?

    This is kinda cute too.

    Love this one!

    I haven't been completely blonde since high school.

    This was me then:
    Don't laugh, I know some are hideous.

    Ok, so as I'm trying to download some more pictures...I get the error message saying "You have reached 100% on your 1GB storage space". Underneath, there's the option to "purchase more space".
    Really? I didn't even know there was such.

    Did you all have to do this?

    Is there any way to get around it or do I honestly have to purchase more? I didn't even read into it before I hit exit. Oops!

    14 days of l♥ve: day 7 & 8

    Day 7: Yesterday's challenge was...post a silly picture of someone you LOVE!! Something really funny that cracks you up!!

     {my sweet cousin, Arien. She decided to suck all the juice from a pickle slice to see if it would stick to her forehead? Crazy girl!}

    {this one cracks me up every.single.time. it was years ago when Cliff first bought his house and was in the midst of remodeling his bedroom. I can't remember what we were doing that particular night, or why he decided to be Mr. Macho Man?, but I'm glad he did. Plenty of laughs for our future.}

     {underneath the dinner table during Christmas with family, this is Hannah my little flowergirl!}

    Day 8: Post a pic of unconditional LOVE!! Love is all about unconditional so post a pic about it! It can be happy, sad, sweet, totally up to you!!

    14 days of l♥ve: day 6

    Little Miss Bella decided a few weeks ago that she was going to chew on every cord in her little paws reach. So, my laptop cord was the culprit on one occasion.
    It lasted for a few weeks, and yesterday, decided to completely go out on us.
    Thank goodness we had completed schoolwork during the rainy day on Saturday!

    I just left Wally World and spent a whopping $69 bucks on a new charger.
    Thanks Bell!

    Day 6: Post a pic of your favorite Valentine Gift! You can 'splain or not it is totally up to you! You don't even have to post a pic if you don't have one, just describe it to us.
    ****

    Since I'm not home on my computer, I can't upload a picture of the actual night. But a couple years ago, Cliff and I decided that for Valentine's day we weren't going to go "all out", but rather spend the evening at his house, cooking dinner, and watching a movie.

    It was perfect.

    Our menu consisted of grilled steaks, baked potatoes, and a fresh tossed salad.

    {For the life of me, I can't remember the movie we watched. -I have a horrible memory}

    To be honest, I wouldn't mind if every Valentine's day could be spent like that! We get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of school and every day life that we often times forget to actually sit down and enjoy each others company.

    This Valentine's Day, I have a meeting at 7, that usually doesn't get over until 8:30ish or so. I'm hoping we can somehow arrange for dinner before and movie after?

    Day 7 will be posted tonight.
