A Perfect Day

Ohh, 5:30am Saturday morning (March 27th) came early as I rolled out of bed and dressed in full camouflage to meet my brother, Cody, and head out towards the woods to turkey hunt. Cliff wasn't too far behind me, but unfortunately, no turkey hunting this Saturday morning for him-- he had to take the GACE (a test for education majors). Cody and I went to the spot where we have been hunting this one turkey in particular...and again, no luck. But, we were oh so close. He was gobbling nonstop at us calling until he got spooked from some outsiders on four-wheelers driving past the field he was roosted near. Anyhow, I'm getting carried away.. once Cliff was finished with his exam we headed towards Fitzgerald, GA for our "Engagement picture session". A best friend of mine, Brooke, had mentioned to me a while back that her Mother loved to do photography and was interested in photographing our engagement session.

After a few e-mails & calls, we had a good idea of what I was looking for and what she had to offer. The combination of the two= AMAZING! We shot for 3+ hours in what we thought was a chilly, overcast, windy day. The sun may have broke through the clouds once or twice. BUT, come to think of it, we couldn't have asked for a better day. #1, The sun wasn't in our eyes making us squint or turn various ways, etc.. and #2, the cool weather allowed us to go for hours without becoming sweaty, makeup running, yadi yadi ya.

It was PERFECT! I am so proud, but more-so impressed with the fact that my "fiance" never complained. Ok, maybe once.. towards the end of the third hour, ha! Even Mrs. Tammy (the photographer) was impressed :) He even enjoyed it so much, he began giving her ideas for various shots. How funny!

Afterwards, we were all pooped. We decided to kick back and relax enjoying a nice dinner with Brooke's family and warming up next to a firepit outside with some friends.

Sunday morning was a blessing in itself as well. We attended church with the family in Ocilla, GA. Here, Jason Crabb from The Crabb Family came to perform. And boy was he awesome! I couldn't be more grateful for them allowing us not only to stay the night, but for inviting us to attend such a great service. Here are some favorite songs that I enjoyed:

It was a perfect day
What I’d give if I could find a way to stay
Lost in this moment now
Ain’t worried about tomorrow
When you’re busy living in a perfect day
