wedding wednesday's- honeymooning.

10 months, 2 weeks, and 4 days to go (318 days!)

My checklist for this month looks like this:

As you can see, not too much going on at this point. I can actually check off a few items..

Bridal gown= check!
Book location of ceremony= check!
Book location of reception= check!
Book wedding planner [if deciding to have one]= check! (....my MOTHER!)
Registry= Bed, Bath, & Beyond= check!

Not sure if many of you remember or not, but I posted this post a few weeks ago.

I fell in love with this place at first glance & knew it was the perfect spot for not only the reception, but the ceremony as well!

Two Thursday's ago, we officially booked it & reserved our dates :)

Our rehearsal will fall on Thursday, June 9th & the ceremony Friday, June 10th at 7:00pm.

The next big thing on our list is the honeymoon.

Believe it or not, according to Wedding Etiquette, the Groom's & his family pay for the honeymoon.

Still unsure? Here's a few website that show you who pays for what:

http://www.butlerwebs.com/weddings/whopays.htm

http://wedding.theknot.com/wedding-planning/wedding-budget/qa/who-pays-for-the-honeymoon.aspx?MsdVisit=1

I've had this tiny poll posted on the right side of my blog since I first started it back in March.

These are the stats as of now:

I'm happy to announce that we are going with the majority on this one!  [Hopefully, that is!]

St. Lucia!

We have been trying to decide for quite some time now. Well, I take that back. I have been trying to decide for quite some time. The Mr. could really care less. He's not into this whole wedding planning stuff....? Any others out there experience this same response from their significant other?? Ha. I just consider it a typical guy thing. I'd rather do it myself anyhow ;)

Ohhh, and the reallly cool thing?!

There are even HONEYMOON REGISTRIES now-a-days.

Yes way!

I had no idea.

Whoever came up with that was genius.

I feel certain we will have that registry available as soon as we know the final details!

But for now, I want to know where YOU went on your once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon!

Give us some advice:
from what I need to make sure we don't forget in our suitcases, which excursions were the best experience to any horror stories that you may have experienced along the way!

THE HONEYMOON ADVICE

Being a virgin, Bob was very nervous about his upcoming wedding night, so he decided to seek the advice of his friend John, who was quite the local Romeo. "Just relax, Bob," counseled John. "After all, you grew up on a farm, just do like the dogs do."
Right after the honeymoon the bride stormed over to her mother's house in tears and announced that she wasn't going to live under the same roof as Bob for even one more night.
"He's totally disgusting!" she wailed.
At first Bob's bride resisted her mother's attempts to find out the exact nature of the problem, but finally broke down. "Ma, he doesn't know anything at all about how to be romantic, how to make love . . . He just keeps smelling my ass and pissing on the bedpost!"

Anybody else need help in planning/booking a honeymoon? TheKnot has a really nice website where you can find the answers to most of your questions.

Have a great Wednesday Y'all!

top 2 tuesday & weekend recap

Well, Good Morning everyone! Tuesday's are my late days to go into work since our doctor travels to a town closer to where I live. Soooo, I figured what the heck, let me get in a quick post while I can. I've never participated in Top 2 Tuesday over at The Undomestic Momma, so today will be a first :)

 Today's topic is: Top 2 Favorite Perfumes/Colognes/Scents

1) For the Mister, it's Giorgio Armani. I love the smell of it on him.

2) For Me: Dream Angel Heavenly from Victoria Secret. I've worn this for yearssss & never get tired of the smell!

This weekend was our monthly Girl's Game Night. We piled up at my friend Amy's house [that is in the remodeling process, as you will see in the pictures]. We each brought an appetizer and drink of our choice. We had buffalo cheese dip, rice krispie treats, twice baked potatoes, jalapeno poppers, chocolate chip cookies, and chicken pasta! We started out gathered around the kitchen, snacking and talking about wedding stuff. Then ventured to the table and began to play this game.

"I've Never...." . The truth comes out with this one. It's a good game to get a few drinks down & to have some good laughs!

You roll the dice, move your marker & follow along with what it tells you to do on the space you landed.
Some will say "draw an I've never card".
The card's consist of the "I've never" statement and a True/False to-do at the bottom.
If the card was true, that you had never done that particular item listed, then you proceed with what it tells you to do. If false,  you follow what is listed...and so on. Pretty simple.

For example, Sam drew one card. I can't remember what it said, but I believe she had done what the I've Never card said, so her answer would've been false. She then had to sing the National Anthem aloud. We tried to help her out, ha :)

Here are some more pictures of us playing the game.

Above is Ashley & Meredith [I have mentioned them in a previous post. Click here to check it out]

All of us.

Next, we move into the living room for a game of Twister.

All that up & down, falling on the floor, spinning around stuff- not good.
Wasn't long before we started to get a little sleepy.
This is where I crashed.

It was a GOOD time. And some GOOD sleep, that's for sure!

Love them! ♥
Enjoy your Tuesday!

another blog award...eekkk!

Courtney over at Tales from the Trails awarded me with this award July 15th. I didn't even notice until last night that she had left a comment on a previous post of mine letting me know!! I get all of my e-mails on my phone and for some reason, I never received the notification that she had left me a comment! Anyhow, enough of me trying to explain myself. Let me get to the good stuff!

Thank you so much Courtney!!
Now I have to answer these two questions...

1. Why did you start blogging?
My friend Brooke [that I've mentioned quite a few times], her Mother did our engagement pictures back in March. When I went to visit them for our session, Mrs. Tammy introduced me to her "blog". She has a "fun" blog & a photography blog. It was like love at first sight! I thought it was the neatest thing. It's kind of like scrapbooking, except it's all computerized. I love to scrapbook but just can't find the time anymore to sit down long enough to do it. By blogging, it's like a scrapbook, journal, picture album, & guestbook all-in-one. It's quick, easy, and very convenient. I originally got started thinking it would just be for local friends and family to view. Once I added Mrs. Tammy & figured out the whole "follower" thing, it was on! I was following cute blogs left and right. I love reading everyone's stories, recipes, crafting ideas...I love it all. I've met some really sweet people so far, and I hope to continue this blogging journey for many years to come!

2. What are your blogging rules?
I try to use the least bit of foul language as possible. I will never post my friends last name's, and probably never my own. I try to at least get two posts in per week! Like Tales From the Trails, I don't share exactly where in Georgia I live, nor where the two of us work. This blog, like I mentioned in #1 was to originally be for friends & family members to view various ideas about our upcoming wedding. However, once into the blogging world, I realized there was much more to it than that. So, since I started it out weddingish, I'm going to keep it that way until next June. I like change, so I may change things up a bit between now and then, but for the most part I will continue to post like I have been. Not just wedding stuff, but a mixture of stuff about me and the fiance, and the stuff we enjoy doing.

I am passing this award onto these lovely ladies!
Thanks girls for all of your sweet comments

my first blog award, or so i thought :)

YAYYYY!

I have officially received my FIRST blog award.

Miss JLA, a hometown friend over @Stilettos & A Fishing Pole has awarded me with this here award:

THANKS JESS!

The requirements after winning the award are to list seven things about myself and then pass the award on to some new blogs that I've discovered.

This was harder than you think.
But, here goes nothing:

  1. I'm a lefty.
  2. I would rather go hunting all day than be at the mall
  3. I live with my Fiance.
  4. I absolutely HATE washing dishes. Thank goodness for whoever invented dishwashers.
  5. I'm not afraid of snakes, but I'm terrified of spiders & roaches.
  6.  I bit into [& chewed] a dog treat once thinking it was a slim jim.
  7. You will never find me without polish on my toenails.

Now, it is my duty to proudly announce the 7 winners I will pass this bloggy award on to. Then, it will be your duty to do a new post proclaiming 7 things we wouldn't know about you & awarding 7 of your bloggy buddies with this award as well! Good luck to all :)
Here are my recipients:

Jamie's sweet comments always bring a smile to my face. We have a LOT in common!

2)

Jenna was having somewhat of a drowsy start to this week! Brighten up her day by showing her, her hubby, & her two chocolate children some L.O.V.E!

3)

This here cowgirl gave me an award [my actual FIRST award- click here to check it out!] on July 15. Until I was typing up this post & went to tag her blog did I realize that I had even received such an awesome surprise! Thanks Courtney!
I'm returning the favor :)

p.s. I will be re-posting her award on Friday!

4)

This pretty lady was one of the very first blogs I found & followed. She returned the favor and has left numerous sweet comments since!

5)

Beth is such a sweet girl with a puppy like mine!
She deserves a bloggy award for always maintaining a FUN blog!

6)

I am a new follower of Lyndsie's! Her blog is cute & fun with a lot going on daily. She also has another blog specifically for giveaways! Check it out here!! I have a lot of catching up to do, but Lyndsie seems like an awesome person with a great big heart! I can't wait to read more about her & her wonderful life.

7)

Christin has the absolute cutest wedding blog ever. I have recently found her & love reading all of her posts regarding anything wedding-ish!

So there ya have it.

In the end, what I thought was a great surprise, turned out to be an even better one.

I've received not one, but two bloggy awards!

And the best thing about it...

I get to pass them on to you!

Check back tomorrow for my re-post regarding my "first" blog award!

Ta ta for now ;)
